What does it mean if I test positive for COVID-19 on a rapid test?

A rapid test is a cost-effective tool for detecting COVID-19, however, it is not a diagnosis of the virus.

Testing “Preliminary Positive” for COVID-19 means you are considered positive until a PCR Lab test is conducted by Provincial Health Authorities.

Only a PCR Test can provide a diagnosis for COVID-19.

I have tested Preliminary Positive for COVID-19, now what?

If you have tested preliminary positive for COVID-19, you will be advised to follow your provinces current restrictions.

This will involve isolating and contacting 811. They will then provide instructions based on the most up to date information and you may require a PCR test to be conducted by Provincial Health Authorities.

The buttons above can provide current information on province mandates and restrictions.
